Kindergarten Spanish:
We're still talking body parts! After reviewing with our "Hands on my Head" song and a "What's Missing" game, we added a new part-dientes(teeth). This is a big subject for kindergartners and we discussed tooth traditions in different countries. In many hispanic countries, there is a tooth mouse or rabbit instead of a tooth fairy who collects the dientes. We read Tooth on the Loose, by Susan Middleton Elya and worked on a coloring sheet and tooth graph.
B1-2 Technology:
This has been a cold winter so far, but did you know that winter can also be warm? We listened to the Tumblebook Winter is the Warmest Season, and then used the program Kidspiration to use graphic organizers for exploring Winter with our 5 senses. We spent the remaining time checking out the Winter Olympics on the internet.
3-4 Technology:
After exploring the various Winter Olympic sports last week and graphing our favorites, this week we picked our favorite sport and made a 4 fact powerpoint about it. We included pictures, slide transitions, formatted text, and even some sounds or music. Early finishers checked out the Olympic mascots and games.
