Summer Session Week 7

B1-2 Technology:
After our keyboarding, students in each computer team were given just a few pieces of a puzzle. After trying to figure out who the puzzle was picturing, the teams got  together with all the pieces to assemble the puzzle and see the completed pictures of some of our teachers at school. We discussed how giving out personal information of the internet was like a puzzle-it is ok to give out one "puzzle piece" of info like your first name only or your grade in school, but the more "pieces" you give, the easier it is for someone to see the "whole picture" of you. We want to be safe online and not give out personal information. We watched Part 1 of Hector's World, an internet safety cartoon, and then made cool Hector headbands with our computer nicknames that we will use when online-the first 3 letters of your first name and the first 3 letters of your last name. Mine is lorvin!

3-4 Technology:
Students started with Type to Learn, and then listened to the Tumblebook How I Became A Pirate. We went to our own adventure book that we are writing on Storyjumper and worked on adding more scenes-maybe even a pirate adventure!
